Quality Assurance
At ExcelaCom Technologies, our quality assurance activities and quality control activities are laid and used as part of our project processes. These activities comply with all the ISO-9001:2000 norms and Defined level (also called Level III) of SEI-CMMI processes.
Every step of our development process is governed by a set of quality objective and procedures to achieve those objectives as illustrated below:
- ExcelaCom Technologies Knowledge DB
This database encompasses the wide knowledge, experience, expertise and learning in the projects at ExcelaCom (which do not violate customer agreement) and captured in order to assist future projects - Internal Quality Audit
Internal Quality Audit - Forms the core Quality Assurance activity. - Configuration Management
The Configuration Manager ensure that configurable items are uniquely identifiable and accessible and updates to all baseline items are controlled and traceable, also the status of all baselined items are known. - Change Management
The CCB ensures that all the changes to user requirements and design are identified, verified, estimated, documented, reviewed, approved, assigned, delivered and closed. - Risk Management
The Risk database (part of our KM) is updated based on risks forecasted and risks occurred, the mitigation plan taken in each project. This helps the team at ExcelaCom to understand, analyze and plan for risks that may occur in future projects. - Technical Review
Forms the core activity which helps in capturing defects at early stages, thereby ensuring that ExcelaCom produces reliable, quality software on time. - Corrective and Preventive Action
Formalizes the tracking of critical incidents in each project which are tracked to closure, thus helping in effective project monitoring and control. - OSSP
OSSP - Organization Standard Software Processes - This has a list of processes that are applicable at ExcelaCom. These are used as is or tailored to suit project specific needs. - Project Management
Project Management – ExcelaCom's PM process covers project estimation, planning, monitoring, control, customer communication, quality management, and other aspects relevant to project governance. - Project Planning
Project Planning – The Project Hand book that is customized for each customer gets created here. This details our technical process cycle, delivery plans, QA plan, QC plan, etc. – An inherent part of PM. - Requirement
Requirement - The focus is not only on managing the requirements from the client, but also to elicit the requirements which the client may not have expressed and could have been implied. - Design
ExcelaCom Design guidelines to assist our architects in dealing with all design aspects. Ensures the design of software product that conforms to the standards and customer requirements. - Coding
The coding standards used within ExcelaCom and the explicit guidelines forms a strong base to ensure that the the software developed conforms to requirements. - Testing
ExcelaCom has developed expertise in handling separate testing projects as a business model. We are proud to bring that expertise in all our development projects. - Human Resource Management
Human Resource & Training – The quality of the people are our source of strength. The strong HR department is guided by relevant processes lays out the various benefits for the employees of ExcelaCom which not only include monetary benefits but more importantly other benefits such as training, and career planning policies. - Organizational Training
Organizational Training includes training to support the strategic business objectives and to meet the tactical training needs. - System Admin
Includes backup, disaster recovery, scheduled virus checkup, maintaining defect log registry. - Supplier Agreement and Management
Our vendor selection process to ensure that only those who can keep up with the stringent demands of ExcelaCom get our business. - The entire Organization has a clear set of goals in terms of Metrics that are collected, analyzed and reviewed which not only gives a clear indication on the performance of each project and department, but also serves as historical information for future endeavors.
